Today was the final tutoring session for me and my learner this semester. We talked a lot and reflected on the past year in the pandemic and shared optimism and hope for the future! We also played some of my learner's favorite math and card games to wrap up the semester.

My learner continued working on their math skills this week. We got into some more difficult addition problems, and my learner did a great job working through this challenge. As usual, we ended with some fun and played online cards.
I had a great session with my learner working on addition and subtraction. We focused on the importance of taking our time and writing things down to make sure we are being thoughtful with all of our answers. We worked on these skills with some great online math games and wrapped up with online connect four and cards, lots of fun!
My learner and I started with a check-in and update on how things are going. Then, we played some online math games and finished with online card games. My learner has really been enjoying math, so we have been allocating pretty much all of our time to that. We have lots of fun getting competitive against the computer!
Today, my learner and I played some online card games focused on math and strategy skills. Gin rummy was a definite favorite! Using screen share to play games has worked really well for us.
I started the session with my PAL learner catching up and sharing our rose, bud, and thorn for the week (one thing going well, one thing going not so well, one thing we are looking forward to). We spent the rest of the session doing math exercises/games online through shared screen. Our goal for the semester is to work on different topics/subjects every session!
