Louisiana Marathon Expo is an expo held inside of the Raising Cane’s River Center as a part of the Louisiana Marathon. Attendees walk through the expo and browse the various booths. Oschner is a sponsor and Eat Fit was present at the marathon expo. I developed a hydration handout for the attendees and for future use. Eat Fit apparel and cookbooks were also sold. Eat Fit king cakes, which are dairy free, gluten free, keto friendly, and sweetened with Swerve, were on display. We also offered fruit infused water for the expo attendees.

I enjoyed talking to the prospective students and providing some insight on our program.

On September 13, 2019, I attended the Well-Ahead orientation in Baton Rouge. Ms. Rebecca Guidroz is the dietitian at Well-Ahead. The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging hosted an event celebrating Grandparents Day. My primary role was to greet the attendees, hand out breakfast items and make sure the breakfast area was well stocked. There were also booths to learn about MyPlate, blood pressure control, and there were speakers throughout the event. One speaker presented a food demonstrated and showed the attendees how to make a healthy salad with fresh fruit and vegetables. The event was ran well, and I enjoyed volunteering my time.
