I learned so much today! It was a great educational opportunity that I feel will benefit me in the future. The instructors and assistants were very helpful with all the questions.
Marina and I met with Allie. We did a little dance with the Girl Scouts and laughed so much! We also helped them with making posters for when they sell cookies in January.
We talked about spirituality with Sister Durie. She also read us a prayer that she loves.
Sister Durie was a pleasure as always! She showed marina and I her pictures of her when she was a toddler. She also loved Marina’s video about Marianist Leadership and asked for her to do a Church-related video as well!!
Sister Durie saw Marina’s sketches and loved them! We talked about Adam and Eve again, which I think is one of her favorite stories. She was also very excited to hear how our trips back home were, such a pleasant welcome back!
Sister Durie typed out prayers for Marina and I, which was so refreshing. She also talked about her personal life, which was eye opening. She was very excited to talk about Heaven!
Sister Durie talked about the icons she would draw and elaborated on the story of Adam and Eve. This was new to me, to hear the whole story. I even took notes and enjoyed her enthusiasm for sharing the story with me and Marina.
Speaking with Sister Durie was another blessing! I was very relieved to hear and see her doing better physically. She gave us wonderful talks about God and her art that she would do, specifically icons.
I volunteered at the Blood Donation. I gave out fliers and worked the check-in.
Getting to bond with Sister Durie was truly a blessing. She talked to Marina and I about her faith. She had so many inspirational words to say. In addition, she also gave me advice about my spirituality.
