Ethnoglaciology
I’m fascinated by the various imaginings and re-imaginings which create the “modern glacier” as well as the complex entanglements of white supremacy, settler colonialism, and capital which define the ways we perceive and manage landscapes. In partnership with the Edward Giuliano ‘72 Global Engagement Fellowship, I spent six months studying the histories of glaciers and settler colonialism in their various iterations in mountainous national parks in the Western Hemisphere.
