I enjoyed working with all of the people. The event was well organized and run smoothly. I now have the documents and understand the process for helping others create their basic estate documents.
I had some interesting jurisdiction issues with a name change for a child in India that is a resident of Benton County.
I also figured out how and wrote a Declaration of Renunciation for a trustee regarding a trust.
Then there was an issue about how to communicate and collect expenses for a child when there is a permanent protection order against the co-parent. Apparently there is no established way to do this.
Those were 3/6 issues I took care of in the 2 hours I was there. I always learn so much.
Today I addressed a wide variety of topics including: probate, divorce, domestic violence/restraining order, jurisdiction issues, how to answer interrogatories, a guardianship, and a name change of a minor. It is wonderful to see how much I have learned in life and at school over the last 4 years. It is very rewarding to get to use my knowledge from painful experiences and hard work to help others in difficult situations.
