    LCAE Leadership Abroad Costa Rica

The experience I had with Dona Deisy is Costa Rica was one of my favorites. I say this because we collect recycled materials in the school for children to help Dona Deisy sort out her work and load it in the truck. She is very enthusiastic about her work because it benefits her community. I say this because I am a very big person on recycling. Many do not recycle in the U.S. or do, but only do partial which is better than nothing, but we could be saving more. Not only did we help out with this, but we got to interact with the children and talk to them, this allowed us to get to know the people of Costa Rica a little bit better.

In the experience I had with Professor Humberto Gonzalez, I learned that it is crucial to take care of our nature because it is what gives us our resources. We planted a tree together as a group to symbolize what we had done that day. We climbed up the mountain and we look for potential trees that could be beneficial to us and took out the weeds, so that the tree could breathe and grow. We also had a chance to see the spring water naturally occur. This spring water is drinkable and is assisting their community very well.
