It was an amazing experience to go the Association Administrator Acueducto Carrizal. We were able to climb a mountain and cut down excess vegetation that was growing around budding trees. The scenery was beautiful, and I was glad that we able to actually have had the experience hike a mountain. We were given a tour of the aquifer and received a thorough explanation of how they work in that certain area of Costa Rica. We were also able to plant a tree to leave our mark on Costa Rica.
We had the amazing opportunity to meet a Dona Deisy, the founder of the Kinder Estados Unidos de America Recycling Program. She took us to the school that she started the recycling program for, and we were able to meet with many children. It was amazing to see how the children are already so involved in recycling. By the school being so involved in recycling, the students go home, get their materials, and influence their parents to recycle as well. They bring in many recyclable products from home, and Dona Deisy stops by the school twice a month to pick them up. She is a dedicated a hardworking woman that really inspires me. I loved being able to talk to the students about recycling. they say that they love saving the world in any way that they can. It's amazing how well educated they are regarding recycling. Overall, it was amazing experience.
