Too shady! 😂
Cleared the last of the hangers from the playscape—at least 6 of them!—and felled a splintered juniper that arched over the playground. The area is much, much safer for kids and their parents.
Ketan and I cleared at least 6 hanging limbs, 5 of which were over the playscape or the sidewalks running through it—and were not marked off with “Caution” tape because people had removed it. 🙄
Great work! Erynne was a huge help. We got everything that could be done from the ground finished in the picnic area by softball fields 1, 2, and 3.
Led 6 volunteers, directing them on what to rescue and how. Species rescued as plants included Texas ash, Texas mountain laurel, twistleaf yucca, cedar sedge, a lovegrass, celestials, some wiry plants growing from bulbs, that purple-flowered plant (Metamalva?), and a couple of plants that look like irises above ground but have tough, wiry roots, not corms.
Amazing species available for rescue!
