Event Description | NOTE: This volunteer opportunity is for confirmed MAPS 2.0 volunteers who will be serving with The PSU Landing @ FUMC on Tuesday nights. You will use this service opportunity to track your training dates and shifts and log the hours you have served. The Student Community Engagement Office is seeking enthusiastic applicants to join our MAPS 2.0 team working with The Landing at FUMC student shelter starting Winter term 2021. First United Methodist Church is opening a secular and inclusive transitional living program specifically for Portland State students - the first of its kind. By joining this program, located only a few blocks from campus, you will be assisting in running the program during assigned and consistent shifts. You will have the opportunity to make friends with a diverse group of student volunteers and student residents and you will receive training on interpersonal dynamics, conflict resolution, and counseling skills. FUMC and SCEC have committed to making this in-person volunteer opportunity as safe as possible to stop the spread of COVID-19. Requirements
