|Event Description||The Media Foundation is an Oregon 501(c)3 organization that provides funding to the local nonprofit community by allowing qualifying nonprofits to simply and easily convert in-kind media donations (CDs, DVDs, books, video games, software, etc.) into operating capital through the use of a free mobile app. These donations are then processed by volunteers and staff and sold online through websites such as Amazon, eBay, Alibris, Half.com, and others.|
Volunteers assist us by doing similar work to what you would do in a second-hand media store or library. This includes cataloging, cleaning, sorting, prioritizing, and filing the book, CD, DVD, video game, and software donations we receive.
You can volunteer once, or come in to volunteer on a regular basis. Even a few hours of your time make a big difference in helping us process media donations!
Due to the mass quantities of media we regularly receive, volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization! Processing more media donations directly translates to more funds for our local nonprofit partners which include Serving Our Neighbors, Kindred Partners, A Social Ignition, Oregon Adventures, Transitional Youth, Periokos, Love Inc. Tigard, and Omega Espresso.
