I enjoyed my time at the Brother's residence after dropping off the February issue of the Rattler. I had a nice talk with Brother Al about my job with the paper and what my future plans are
Gabe Fernandez and I helped facilitate a retreat for the St. Peter's 8th grade to help them learn about leadership, community, and the importance of kindness
We finally finished the routine and now we're just working on perfecting the routine for the competition next weekend
We were still working on the routine and perfecting it for the competition
This day was so fun because I got to stay long enough to take the kids outside. I was very excited to be able to run around and play...even though I have not done that in a while.
I helped the girls learn more choreography and even start cleaning the dance by putting them in formations
Since the kids weren't there, I helped Elizabeth organize the book shelves and the classroom in general. It felt good helping her because I know those were things she had been wanting to accomplish for a long time. I also got a letter from one of the kids today that made my day because it made my realize the real impact I have made on these kids.
I continued to help the girls choreograph their routine
I continued to help the girls choreograph their dance and work on technique for the routine
I love hanging out with the people around and talking and especially helping.
This day was a bit difficult at first because of the language barrier since the child's homework was all in Spanish. However, I overcame that obstacle with the minimal Spanish I do know and we were able to get her homework done. I also enjoyed being able to play outside with the kids since usually I am inside helping kids with their homework until I have to leave. It was fun to play games like tag and hide and seek especially since the kids seemed to enjoy having me be it.
