Utopian Academy for the Arts

About

Description
Utopian Academy for the Arts is a state-approved charter school for residents of Clayton County, GA. Utopian Academy is currently the highest performing state-approved charter school in metro Atlanta, and the second highest performing state-charter school in Georgia.

The idea for this school was the result of matching a need with a solution. Utopian Academy for the Arts was founded on the premise of serving one of the most historically underrepresented, and underserved communities in the metropolitan Atlanta area; Clayton County, GA. Recognizing the need for education reform and increased charter school offerings in Clayton County,

Georgia, Morehouse Alumnus Dr. Artesius Miller founded the Utopian Academy for the Arts.

The rationale for the enrollment plan of Utopian Academy for the Arts is two-fold and is supported by research. Utopian seek to provide a significant educational benefit of serving as the only public school in Clayton County that uses a gender-based classroom instructional approach. Additionally, Utopian Academy is the only public middle school in Georgia to offer a comprehensive educational program in the dramatic, media, and culinary arts.

Utopian Academy for the Arts serves over 275 Clayton County students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Educational program highlights include:
