STEMS after school tutors is a student-led organization that is a part of Community Corps of the Swearer Center at Brown University. STEMS partners with Providence Afterschool Alliance (PASA). PASA provides high-quality and engaging afterschool learning opportunities in middle and high schools across Providence and brings new learning opportunities to more than 1,700 young people throughout Providence.
Through this position PASA is recruiting volunteers to support STEM tutoring, increase high school students' college and career readiness, as well as support other after school programs. Tutors also have the opportunity to create their own clubs in either a middle or high school setting. Tutors will engage 1- 2 times per week between the hours of 3-5pm at Hope High School or the respective after school site.
Students who participate in STEMS after school tutors are eligible for off-campus federal work study. Tutors must complete and pass a background check to participate. For more information please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
