Spay Arkansas

About

As a registered 501(c) (3) nonprofit, we seek to provide affordable spay/neuter services to low income citizens, seniors, rescue groups and individuals. We are an income based program. Since opening our doors in March 2011 we have sterilized more than 35,000 animals in our community. At the same time, shelters are reporting that euthanasia rates have dropped from just under 50% at that time to no more than 15% in 2017. Independent veterinarians work within our clinic and provide outstanding service to clients. Averaging 45 surgeries a day, the staff of Spay Arkansas has an reputation for positive outcomes and compassionate care for every animal that comes through our doors. We have sterilized thousands of community and feral cats and we actively work with cat colony managers to quickly secure the entire colony to prevent additional births. Our monthly vaccine clinic is open to the general public and provides an opportunity for all citizens to have their pets vaccinated and microchipped at affordable prices. We do require all animals be spay or neutered in order to receive a rabies vaccine and we do not serve breeders. Our pet food pantry is part of our pet retention program. By helping citizens who are in a bit of a financial bind, our goal is to keep the pet in the home, loved and out of our local shelters. No one is turned away regardless of whether they have been a Spay Arkansas client or not. All food is donated and we give it out on a first come first serve basis.
