About

The School of the Arts plays a vital role in the cultural and artistic life of the campus and community. Comprised of the departments of Art, Music, and Theatre and Dancethe School of the Arts presents world-class visual art exhibitions, musical performances, theatre productions, dance concerts and public arts events year-round. 

The School, housed within the College of Liberal Arts, increases our community’s access to the arts through programs that include the Apex Concert Series, Argenta Concert Series, Black Rock Press, Lake Tahoe Music Camp, John and Geraldine Lilley Museum of Art, Nevada Chamber Opera, Performing Arts Series and the Reno Jazz Festival.

About 600 undergraduate and graduate students, pursuing both majors and minors, learn from and interact with distinguished faculty who are not only experts in their fields, but also some of the most creative, imaginative and inspiring artists around. 
The School’s degree programs provide a strong foundation in a range of artistic disciplines, enabling students to contribute as artists, educators and scholars at the local level and beyond.
