On Monday, we helped the kids fill out a paper describing their wishes for their community, theirselves, and the world. The purpose of this was to get an idea about what should be painted on the outside of their building for a mural. The kids wrote many inspiring things and had good ideas for the painting. After that, we helped the kids do a puzzle and hung out and talked to them. I enjoy volunteering at Peace Pals because the children are very sweet and love to interact with us.
I volunteered at Peace Pals today and completed many tasks with the children. When we first got there, the kids were still working on homework. We helped the kids with anything ranging from Spanish to math. One of the little girls I worked with wrote her mom a letter and drew pictures to go along with it. After all the children had finished their homework, we simply sat down and talked to them. We learned about the sports they liked, what kind of music was popular, and how school was going. We played multiple games with them and got to know their interests. Volunteering at Peace Pals was very fun and I loved being able to interact and help the kids.
