About the event
An ethereal experience of casting lanterns into the river in honor of loved ones, hopes, dreams, and wishes. Admission is free. Lanterns are $5 each (sold at the event) and are made of eco-friendly rice paper lantern and an LED candle. Pens will be available to decorate and personalize your lanterns. Entertainment includes festival dancing to thematic music. Visit the event page HERE.

Volunteer Check-in Info*
Check-in will be located in front of the Lila Cockrell Theater entrance to the HBG Convention Center adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Volunteer Tasks
Lantern Sales Crew
Members of this crew will help support the lead sales volunteer with distributing purchased lanterns to customers at the lantern sales table. Minimum cash/ credit card handling will be required.
Parking Info
Suggested parking info and map will be emailed to you a week prior to the event, free parking has not been arranged. You will be notified if parking arrangements are made available.

Please Note
Themed dress attire is highly encouraged, everyone at the event will be given a festive themed hat to wear, Hospitality and Crowd Control volunteers will wear a neon security vest.
A meal, snacks, and water will be provided to all volunteers.

Parking Update:
Volunteer parking and shuttle service will be available for the Confucius Wishing Lanterns this Saturday, Feb 9th at Alpha Home parking lot located at 419 E. Magnolia St. 78212. Charter buses will be provided by Daisy Charters and Shuttles , two shuttles leaving at 1:30 PM and 2:15 PM, and one shuttle returning to the parking lot at 8:30 PM.
