The Center for Civic Engagement at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has been nationally recognized for its dynamic and noteworthy community outreach efforts in San Antonio and its impact on the global community through teaching and research, public service, volunteerism, civic partnerships and economic development. To create an open forum for the community to share ideas and perspectives on civic engagement, the Center is hosting the 4th Annual Civic Engagement Summit on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. The theme of the summit is “Transforming my Empowerment into Community Action“.
This year’s theme encourages attendees to navigate and share their stories as agents of change in community. The Summit is designed to highlight the work of students, community, faculty/staff and further cultivate civic engagement, community dialogue and collaborative partnerships.
This summit is free and open to the public. The day-long event includes a community engagement poster contest, two panels, workshops, breakout sessions and a luncheon.
