We are looking forward to our Experience UGA trips for the semester! 

NOTE: Shifts with lock codes are for Experience UGA Ambassadors only. If you would like to learn more about our Ambassador program, please contact us at experienceuga@gmail.com.

The shift without a lock code is open for general volunteers!

Trip Description: 
Fourth grade students will be hosted by the College of Engineering at Stegeman Coliseum. CCSD students will have the opportunity to:

  • Use handmade miniature catapults to practice hypothesizing, estimating, and measuring
  • Build spaghetti towers in order to understand basic principles of tension & compression, as well as compare tower designs to see which designs work best
  • Participate in an interactive presentation about “What is Engineering,” where students will learn more about studying & careers in engineering
    • During this session students may briefly tour one of the College of Engineering buildings
    • Students will also participate in a question and answer session with current UGA students

Guidelines for the trip: 
o General volunteers must have attended a volunteer orientation for this trip.
o You are responsible for transportation to the trip site.
o Review information and location for your assigned shift beforehand.
o Be prepared to engage elementary school students! 
o Do not have any food or drink with you during the trip. 
o Have fun with the students! 

Rain Plan: In the event of rain, this trip will still occur as planned.
