About

Feel like getting your hands dirty for an hour for a good cause? Then the Pullman Community Gardens at Koppel Farm is the place to be every Tuesday!
The WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) will lead a weeding and beautification project at Koppel Community Gardens throughout the summer in our CCE plot and plots owned by Backyard Harvest, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing food to the community.
Koppel Gardens is volunteer-run, nonprofit organization committed to building a sense of community through preservation and enhancement of our natural, agricultural and cultural heritage in Pullman and the Palouse.
Due to COVID-19, this event is limited to three students. Participants will help beautify and upkeep this historic garden, and along the way will have the chance to meet new people and make valuable Coug connections.
The CCE and Koppel Garden team will provide the tools, gloves, disinfectant, and hand sanitizer, you provide the muscle and finesse - and make sure you wear a mask.
Volunteers should expect to receive one hour of service for this project. Koppel Garden is located close to the WSU campus at SE Derby St, Pullman WA 99163. We will be meeting in the parking lot of Koppel Garden at 5:00 PM, and we ask volunteers to arrive a few minutes early if possible.
All students are required to wear a mask and attest to participate! We recommend all volunteers bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, and comfortable clothes as we will be working outside. Feel free to bring your own work gloves if you would like.
Does Tuesday not work for you? No problem! Check out one of our other Koppel Garden Upkeep projects on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday!
Cancellation Policy: Participants can unregister on GivePulse up to 24 hours before the scheduled project start time. Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate if it is within 24 hours of the project meeting time. The CCE has a strict No Show policy. After 2 No Shows students will be unable to participate in CCE-Led Projects for the rest of the semester.
