Come join our family at Harbor Hospice and become a Hospice volunteer today. This fulfilling opportunity takes a special, kind-hearted person to offer their time and love to our patients. We service patients in Rockport, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Ingleside, Portland, Corpus Christi, Mathis and Calallen. You can also offer administrative help at our office in Rockport.
  • Administrative opportunities in the office 
  • Offering companionship to patients
  •  Listening to patient's stories
  •  Playing music 
  •  Watching TV
  •  Playing cards or games
  •  Coloring or painting
  •  Brushing hair or painting nails
  • Go on a walk with patient or take them outside for fresh air
  • Offer homebound patient's caregiver a break to leave and run errands or have "me time" while you sit with the patient
  •  Anything you can contribute that you and the patient are comfortable with/able.

Giving your time to put a smile on a patients face is priceless and heart warming. I let you make your own schedule for visits and choose where you're willing to travel to visit a patient. I am also flexible to meet you anywhere to do orientation, pick up paperwork, ect.. you DO NOT have to come to Rockport for this opportunity. I make it work in your local area depending to make it as easy on you as possible.

To become a volunteer Harbor requires:

  1. Orientation
  2. Background check
  3. Drug Screen
  4. TB skin test

Requirements to become a volunteer are:
-Over the age of 18
-Volunteer Background Check
-Drug Screen
-Orientation
-TB shot

Our office is in Rockport, but I am able to meet you anywhere to do an orientation and also to pick up any paperwork.

All of these are provided by Harbor Hospice.




Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
