Hunger and Health Coalition Service Trip with Community Fellows

Monday, June 1st, 2020 from 12:15pm to 2:45pm (ET)

About

Hunger & Health Coalition's mission is to be a resource for individuals and families within our community that are struggling to provide themselves with basic needs such as food, prescribed medications, and heat during winter. Love, generosity, and compassion guide our donors, volunteers and staff daily as they all work towards this goal. Volunteering at Hunger and Health Coalition will include a variation of the following services: unpacking and arranging food donations in the food pantry, unpacking and organizing fresh produce in the market, and/or, cleaning pill bottles for the pharmacy. While these tasks may seem mundane, they help alleviate the arduous decision with which residents are faced each month: food or life-saving medications.

ARRIVAL/ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Volunteers must arrive in the ACT Office (PSU 138) fifteen minutes before departure. Trip times include transportation. Trip leaders will depart for the volunteer site at their specified time. Trip leaders will take attendance at the beginning of each trip. If a volunteer does not attend two intended service trips, they will not be able to attend any more service trips until the next academic year.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:
In the event that Appalachian State is operating under Condition 1, Condition 2, or Condition 3 status, service trips will be canceled. However, volunteers have the option to sign up for a service-trip on a different date.
