About
University Campus School, in affiliation with the University of Memphis, is dedicated to the development and demonstration of exemplary programs from first through fifth grade. In fulfillment of its mission, the school has as its goals:
- Provide best practices in elementary education instruction
- Model innovative educational designs
- Serve as a laboratory for educational redesign and research
- Offer clinical teaching experiences and mentoring for pre-service teacher
Dress Code Policy:
Volunteers are required to dress in a manner that supports student safety and engagement. All volunteers will not wear tight or revealing clothing. Jeans are allowed of volunteering after 3:00 pm or after. Sleeveless tops are not acceptable. Logos should not be any profanity, racial, or provoke any kind of discrimination. Shoes should not have heels higher than an inch and a half. Athletic or tennis shoes, as well as boots, are acceptable. If sandals are worn, they must have a heel strap. Light jackets, vests, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, and cardigans are permitted. Leggings must be solid gray, black, or navy.
The school administration reserves the right to determine whether a volunteer’s attire and appearance are within the limits of decency, modesty, and safety. In matters of opinion, the judgment of the Director/designee shall prevail. The Director may allow exceptions for school-wide programs or special volunteer activities.
