The Guest Engagement Volunteer’s primary goal is to ensure that guests make the most of their visit. This updated volunteer role provides direct support to all Fernbank visitors, from seating guests in the Giant Screen 3D Theater to providing directions and orienting guests on their visit. Guest Engagement Volunteers serve the museum in two critical guest areas: at the main museum entrance and at the giant screen theater entrances. Exact assignments will be determined at the start of each shift and will be chosen based on which area(s) of the museum need the most support. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy interacting with the public. This exciting new opportunity helps advance Fernbank’s goal to provide excellent customer service and a welcoming environment to all guests.
An orientation and background check will be required prior to beginning service.Materials will be provided by the Volunteer Office as necessary. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and will be asked to adhere to a basic dress code, including a nametag and Fernbank scarf or tie. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for further details or to schedule an orientation date. An application can be obtained by either emailing the Volunteer Coordinator, visiting the museum, or printing the pdf found on the following page: https://www.fernbankmuseum.org/media/2760/volunteer-application-2020-fillable.pdf
We are currently recruiting new volunteers to join us in a variety of roles within the museum as part of our Adult Volunteer group. Volunteering with us is a great way to meet new people while giving valuable time to an important cultural institution in Atlanta. There is a position for every personality and age, with opportunities such as Film Attendant, forest restoration volunteer, exhibit facilitator, Animal Care volunteer, and more. We encourage our volunteers to work in as many different positions as they like -- branch out and discover what suits you best!
