Game Day Recycling

Saturday, October 5th, 2019 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm (ET)

About

Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into reusable objects to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, energy usage, air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from land filling) by decreasing the need for "conventional" waste disposal and lowering greenhouse gas emissions compared to plastic production. The overarching goal of this project is to conserve natural resources by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, along with reducing the impact on the environment around the Georgia State Stadium. The game day recycling initiative looks to lead the charge in making Georgia State one of the few colleges and universities that have a working sustainability initiative for home sporting events. Volunteers will work to collect recyclables, along with encouraging attendees to recycle not only during games but in their daily lives.
