Description

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) offers personalized, unbiased counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and their families.  SHIP can help Medicare beneficiaries make informed decisions and answer questions about Medicare coverage, benefits and coinsurance. SHIP can also assist beneficiaries with Medicare Savings Programs available through the state. SHIP Volunteers and Counselors are not affiliated with any insurance company and does not attempt to sell insurance.

SHIP Volunteer Recruiters are individuals that recruit volunteers to become a part of SHIP.  These volunteers strategize about what groups they want to target for recruitment and set-up presentations to speak with organizations, community groups and businesses.  They also disseminate information in the community at local venues about SHIP volunteer opportunities.  Volunteer Recruiters will work with the new volunteers to help them understand the different volunteer roles and help them find their niche as to where they would like to serve.
