L’Arche Portland is a community of people who share life together intentionally. We value meaningful relationships and have always relied on dedicated volunteers to help provide a wide circle of support around our two homes, to open themselves to new relationships and learning opportunities, and to help us be a sign of hope in the larger community. Much of the beauty that happens within L’Arche Portland rests on the efforts of volunteers, and we ask you to consider if you are ready and willing to open your heart and join us. “Community is not built upon heroic actions, but rather upon the love shown in the little things of daily life.” -- Jean Vanier, founder of L’Arche L’Arche communities give witness to the reality that persons with disabilities possess inherent qualities of welcome, wonder, spontaneity, and friendship.
